The X10468 series is a reflective type of pure phase Spatial Light Modulator (SLM) based on liquid crystal on silicon (LCOS) technology. This device uses an LCOS chip with a parallel-aligned nematic liquid crystal layer attached to a CMOS backplane. By using a direct and accurate voltage to control the alignment of the liquid crystal pixel by pixel, the X10468 can modulate the phase of an incident light beam without changing the light’s intensity or polarization.
Four standard types of the X10468 series are available, covering a wide wavelength range (400-1600 nm). Other features of the X10468 series include:
- Pure, linear, and precise phase control
- High light utilization efficiency (90%)
- High diffraction efficiency
- High reflectance
- High fill factors (95%)
- Low diffraction noise (5%)
- Compact size
- Ease of use (DVI compatible)
With the ability to change the phase of a lightwave without affecting the light’s other properties, the X10468 series is ideal for applications requiring precise modulation of light. Applications that can benefit from the X10468 series include:
- Wavefront correction
- Pulse shaping
- Beam forming and steering
- Laser processing
- Optical manipulation
- Optical testing
- Holographic applications
