A CMOS image sensor is a self-scanning photodiode array designed for multi-channel spectrophotometry and other applications. Hamamatsu offers CMOS image sensors in linear and 2D array formats. Also available are high-speed CMOS image sensors for industrial applications.
Featuring low dark current and large charge saturation, a CMOS image sensor can obtain high signal-to-noise ratios. It also has a broad spectral response range and a high level of ultraviolet sensitivity with stable characteristics under ultraviolet illumination.
A CMOS image sensor’s signal processing circuit includes an internal integration amplifier and clamping circuit. This enables the user to construct a simple external driver circuit. A CMOS image sensor is also simple to operate, requiring only 5 V power supply.
