Hamamatsu has designed many compact sensor units for non-destructive testing and electronics inspection, including sensors that feature high resolution, wide dynamic range, and high frame rates. There are also highly durable models that have a fiber optic plate (under the GOS scintillator) to protect the CMOS sensor against unconverted X-rays, thus extending sensor life to 6 million roentgens of irradiation. A low-dose model with extremely low noise characteristics is available for use with open-tube microfocus X-ray sources.
